Angkot wat trip 10/9 - 14/09/2007
For a 5D4N trip to angkor wat is really relaxing trip, we don't have to rush to visit all places. All we need is 3 days to visit all temples in Siem Reap. The weather was hot and sunny, there are 2 days raining in the evening where we have done the visiting.. very lucky. The weather sometime is cloudy and with winds, however we still sweat like nobody, we ask the tour guide to prepare cold water for us, just keep it in the van.
It is amazing to see how those building was built. It is just stacked up the stones on each other and the building just stays there for more then 1000 years, isn't it amazing?
Walking on the path is quite enjoying specially when you are surrounded by those big trees. Climbing on the stairs is not much fun, because it is small and narrow, you have to walk up by the side way like a crab, but can manage la.
DAY 1
On arrival of Siem Reap international airport, the tour guide picks us up and we head for lunch then back to guesthouse for rest. In the late afternoon we visit floating and fishing villages in Tonle Sap Great Lake. We are consider lucky because after finish visiting this place, the rain starts.
DAY 2
Morning: Visit the Angkor Thom (Bayon, Baphuon,Phimeanakas, Terraces of Elephants and Leper King )
Afternoon: Visit Angkor Wat temple and Bakheng hill to view the Angkor Wat temple and surrounding areas during sunset. During the day, I found that the sky is clear and nice weather, so I thought it will be nice to see sunset, however we were not that lucky because at the spot of sunset there were a thick cloud where it cover up the sun.
DAY 3
Morning: See sunrise in front of Angkor Wat, too bad the weather also not that good. Can't really see the real sunrise. After breakfast visit Preah Khan, Neak Pean,Ta Som,East Mebon.
Afternoon: Visit Angkor Wat temple. We caught in the rain here too, this time is on the way walking out, wet..
DAY 4
Morning: Visit The Banteay Srey Temple and Banteay Samre Temple on the way back stop to visit Pradak village where we bought a lot of palm sugar from there.
Afternoon: Bakong temple, Preah Ko temple, Lolei temple and local market.
Day 5
After breakfast, head to airport. Surprisingly Siem Reap International Airport is really nice and clean.
I need some time to arrange my photos, I have taken about 600 photos. I will try to explain some of the photos. When you see this "(*)", do click the photo to read the comments.
